About the Clerkship
A Summer Clerkship at DBH Lawyers will provide you with experience within our Personal Injury, Family, Commercial and Wills & Estates departments to help you decide which path is right for you.
Based in Adelaide, this paid, full-time, four-week clerkship offers practical, hands-on experience, including court attendance, client meetings and potential visits to our suburban office. You will be supported by experienced professionals who are invested in developing your skills, confidence, and professional network.
About You
We are looking for penultimate or final‑year law students and recent graduates who are motivated and ready to take on the challenge of working in a fast-paced law firm. You will bring strong interpersonal skills, a willingness to take initiative and an openness to feedback as you continue to develop professionally.

About the Role
We are looking for a Solicitor/Associate with 3+ years PAE to join our Family Law team. In this full-time role based in our Adelaide office, you will have:
- An opportunity to be part of a team while having the flexibility to manage your own files
- Exposure to a wide range of family law matters
- Active mentoring with respect to more complex family law matters
Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated lawyer who is keen to further develop their skills in family law and takes pride in helping people through challenging family law matters.
About You
You will work closely with the team to deliver efficient, high-quality legal advice and:
- Be able to provide accurate, timely and practical advice in all aspects of family law
- Experience advocating and negotiating effectively for clients at mediations and family dispute resolution conferences
- Skilful representation in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia
- Draft high-quality correspondence and Court documents
- Be able to maintain complete client files
- Represent the firm at industry and public events

Essentials for the role
- Minimum 3 years’ post-admission experience in family law
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills
- A client-centred approach to legal practice
- A keen attention to detail and pride in your work
- Resilience and flexibility in meeting the demands of clients and courts
- Experience with (or an interest in) complex property settlements will be an advantage
